NoBex Radio Companion is designed to allow you to get the best of internet radio from around the world and add in a host of other premium features as well.

It’s basically two versions of the same application in one – if you download the free version you can listen to all the stations in your country for free, but can’t access international ones.

If you go premium then you get unfettered access to all the rest, but the cost can be over £15 per year for this facility.

Users can also view playlists from radio stations; click to buy tracks they like and also listen to snippets of songs again to make sure it’s the right one they were rocking out to.

However, it’s not good news for UK users – not only are not all the radio stations in your area displayed, but it seems the UK has a blanket ban on displaying playlists, meaning no song downloading for you.

The audio also skips and pauses at times, and it’s frustrating not being able to search for a given station in the UK – instead you have to do it by location.

There are other ‘premium’ features like being able to put your picture in the app and posting information to Facebook – but frankly there are other apps out there (like MiRoamer) that give you much cheaper access to the radio stations you want to listen to.
