Formula1.com 2011 Review

This app is an accompaniment to the races, designed to give viewers access to more information than they get just watching on the TV. During a race, it gives you the current standings, and you can choose to see exactly what information you want at a time.
For example, you can view everyone’s current lap times, or change that to seeing the leader’s lap time and the difference for all the other races. You can change how information about the current sectors are displayed, and see other information, such as straight-line speeds and lap count.
On top of that, you can look at the circuit data, including wind speed and direction displayed over a map of the tracks, so you can judge how it’ll affect each part of the race. There’s also temperature, humidity and rainfall information.
There’s a text commentary option if you want to keep up to date but can’t watch on TV, and other bits and pieces are available, including the racing calendar and championship table. The app isn’t limited to race day data, also including practice and qualifying sessions.
It’s a comprehensive app, and offers F1 nuts a great tool to play with during a race weekend. However, on Bold or Curve handsets, you can’t fit very much information on the screen at once, and the app can also be a little unstable, but we still thoroughly recommend it for free.
