A simple link from the BBC to let you watch all its on-demand programming via the specially designed website
BBC iPlayer Review
by on April 30, 2010
This one is technically cheating from the BBC, as the iPlayer application isn’t really an app at all – it’s a link to the specially optimised BBC website.
But that doesn’t really matter, as you’re able to watch tons of programs on demand whenever you want –over Wi-Fi or 3G.
Given the smaller screen sizes of most BlackBerrys, the quality is excellent. It doesn’t look too bad on the Storm range either.
You get access to TV and radio shows via the specially designed portal, and can search for different categories as well – although there’s not as much on offer as on the full site.
While it’s a good site, there’s no easy way to change the quality of what you’re watching as it’s just a web portal rather than a dedicated app and you can’t download the programs to watch offline, but it’s a great way to catch up on a little bit of TV before you go to sleep or when you’re partners hogging the remote.
