Tune into a world of internet radio
If you haven’t tuned into radio recently you should. Everyone from the top end stations to some guy sitting in his pants in his basement, is offering online stations and they’re free too.
There are literally thousands out there, and MiRoamer has them all in an easy-to-use application and UI.
There are suggested stations, categorised options and a multitude of bitrates and quality levels available, so you can listen to pretty much anything you want.
When listening to a station, you can see info on the station or add it to favourites to easily get to later – it’s not fancy but really, it’s all you need.
There’s also Shoutcast support involved as well, giving access to a massive network of tunes to choose from, which is an added bonus.
We wish that song information could be displayed as well, making it easier to see what you’re listening to, and if this was a paid-for application it would be a real downside.
But for a free offering there’s not a lot more we could want from this application – just remember to keep the use to a minimum when out and about as it will munch data like nobody’s business if you use it all the time.
