LiveProfile helps you stay connected with friends in real-time.
With the announcement that Apple has brought instant messaging to the iPhone with iMessenger (through the iOS 5 update in the autumn) there’s a renewed buzz about IM on smartphones. BlackBerry with its messenger service may be the most well known but there are a number of apps that offer the same sort of thing for free.
One of the best we found that offers you a way to contact people on a number of different platforms and for free is Live Profile. This app offers completely free, cross-platform messaging for Android, iPhone, and BlackBerry smartphones and allows users to share photos, set profiles and customise your content however you want it.
Now we would love to peer into our crystal ball and tell you that this will still be available on the iPhone when iMessenger is released but we can’t. What we can say, though, is the Android version is here to stay and is easy to use.
The main problem with it is that you need to get your friends and family to download the app as well – if you don’t then Live Profile is rendered useless.
With friends, though, live Profile is a great app.
