Spin-off app is decent enough if you don’t mid a wait
The Sunday Times Review

The Sunday Times is a law unto itself apparently, with its makers deciding the paper needs its very own app. That’s right, if you want a full week’s worth of Times newspapers, you need to download two apps.
This is a little silly considering you only pay one subscription, but when you see how many sections of the paper you can download each week, it does begin to make sense.
Interestingly, there are a few things different with the Sunday Times app. You still need to pay that two pound a week for a subscription, this allows you into the Sunday Times website and access to the Times app as well.
But the download system seems to be a little bit different. Here, when you click a section of the newspaper to download it takes that little bit longer and then it ‘installs’ on to your tablet. This seems to add needless waiting time. Once downloaded, though, the app works really well. It is a lot more stable than The Times app and there seems to be quite a lot more interactivity as well. On the Sunday Times Travel section we found a 360-degree view of a place, which took a while to load but was impressive. There’s also little touches like adding click to buy buttons on to the games, DVD and music reviews.
Like the Times app it’s more than a little infuriating that you can’t get the thing to automatically download the paper to your tablet but this is a small gripe to what is a fairly well executed application.
