News Reader to give you your topical story fix
There’s been a glut of news reader apps hitting the Android market of late, so to stand out you have to offer something a bit different – or the same thing but better than anyone else.
News Republic is one of those apps that does its job extremely well. There’s no hassle with the app once you load it up, all you get is a massive amount of feeds all customised in a great-looking interface.
While we are flattered that T3 is one of the news sources on offer in the Technology section (aw shucks) there’s so many feeds to choose from that you are spoilt for choice with whatever category takes your fancy.
News Republic has feeds from Sports, Business, Tech, Celebrity and Entertainment available.
What we did find was the app does try to squeeze too much in. Essentially there is too much information on the screen sometimes that it is difficult to switch from one story to the other.
The customisation of the app means it is a winner, though, as you can create your own news channel filters that cater to your tastes.
While Pulse may just top this app for sheer ease of use, News Republic is a smarter than average news reader for your Android smartphones.
