Lapping up all of the web’s content so your brain doesn’t have to
The main premise of Feedly is a decent one: it takes bite-sized chunks of websites you frequent and makes these into mini magazines for you to read wherever you want – even on the toilet. Yes, the toilet.
The great thing about the app is that you don’t have to do a tonne of things for it to work first time. This is because the folks behind Feedly have decided to chuck in a load of websites for a load of categories for you to peruse in Feedly’s unique style.
While we like this idea, we are not one for someone else choosing the sites we read. So we quickly went into the menu and took off the Essentials tab and started adding our own content.
This is fairly easy to do and it is even better that you can add in all your Google Reader feeds seamlessly. You will be surprised by just how nicer your RSS feeds look in Feedly after using Google Reader. It’s like bathing your eyes in the light from a Terrence Malick movie.
Easy to use, functional and looks great – this pretty much sums up this app reviewer and also Feedly.
