Create QR codes for free for any item and other PortaPayments user can be scan the code and purchase your goods straight from their phone.

Even though Quick Response – or QR – codes have been around since the mid-90s, this type of ‘barcode’ hasn’t really taken off in the UK. This may all be about to change, though, especially with apps like PortaPayments.
PortaPayments utilises QR technology to its full extent, acting as a code generator for those that want consumers to buy their products anytime and anywhere.
If, say, you have a shop that’s started advertising locally. Add one of these freely generated QR codes – you can choose how much a code is worth – to a flyer and people can scan it with their mobile phone (if they have PortaPayments installed) and purchase whatever goods you are flogging.
The money part of it is done through PayPal, so you don’t need to worry about giving out account numbers and the like.
It’s a niche idea at the moment, but PortaPayments does point to what the future holds for the way Joe Public pays for goods.
Once consumers do get round to the idea that QR codes are a safe and simple way to buy stuff, then PortaPayments will be a must-have.
