Cut The Rope has taken far too long to get on the Android Market. After watching those with an iOS device feast on the game for so long, and now that the Amazon Appstore no longer has exclusivity, it’s a massive relief that the game is available to the Android masses.
So, what’s all the fuss about? Well, this is a physics based puzzler that has the repeat power of Angry Birds but less of the frustration.
As this is a casual game, the premise is simple: you have to get the candy that dangles from a rope into the mouth of Om Nom, a sweet loving monster who lives in a series of boxes.
The first few stages are a breeze, letting you get to grips with how the game works. But while the progression is swift, as is the difficulty curve. Some of the levels look impossible at first – due to enemies that appear and bubbles you will want to collect – but you will soon figure out most of Cut The Rope’s gaming nuances.
The reason it has repeat value is the inclusion of three stars. Instead of getting this rating after the level is finished, the stars are within the game and you have to cute the rope in such a way that the candy lands in Om Nom’s mouth and collects the stars along the way.
Simple but stupidly addictive, Cut The Rope will have you collecting so much candy that you will have permanent tooth ache.

Absurdly challenging, sometimes brutal, but frequently brilliant (especially on the iPad); just be aware of what you’re letting yourself in for. (Sob.)
