Childish but addictive three-star chasing game
It doesn’t matter how many game use the ‘nab three stars’ incentive for completing a level, we always fall for it hook, line and sinker. Shoot The Apple is no different – you will be using the reload button more times than seems humanly possible but it is worth it to see the stars add up.
Like Angry Birds and Cut The Rope, Shoot The Apple’s concept is stupidly simple, if a little weird. You have to shoot a ragdoll out of a canon and hit an apple with it. Along the way, there’s a variety of obstacles to stop you getting to the apple.
It may not have the re-playability of Angry Birds and games of that ilk but Shoot The Apple is still addictive and has a lot of childish charm.
The first few levels are a cinch and it did take a while for the difficulty curve to start bending upwards but 10 or so levels in and the game grabs you.
The cutesy graphics and the music do grate after a while but you will find yourself lost in the world of Shoot The Apple – and ask yourself more than once just why they decided that a stupid rag doll was the best object to hit an apple with.
