Helping fat boys get slim
Calorie Tracker Review
by on February 3, 2011
If, like most of us, Christmas brings out the Mr Creosote in you, then maybe it is high time you downloaded a calorie counter for your smartphone.
Calorie Counter – by the aptly named Fat Secret – is one of the better ones we have tried. It brings you nutritional facts as well as giving you the opportunity to tell the app what you are eating. Once you type in your details, it will work out the calories and tell you if you are being a porker or not.
The app is spit into two sections: Quick Pick and My Counter. Quick Pick is a small selection of information that you will probably want to use daily. There’s a food list, where you can have a glance at how many calories are in certain dishes. For example, a cup of chilli con carne has about 274 calories, 10 grammes of fat and 6 grammes of sugar.
The list of food is extensive and it’s great to have the information at hand. There’s also a list of food from big name restaurants and calorie counts (a Burger King Angus Burger has beefy 650 calories).
It’s the food diary, though, that is the real key to this app. You can add your food intake to the diary and it will keep all your calories in check. Couple this with an exercise counter, diet counter and weight tracker and this is one free diet app that’s plump with features.
