PowerAMP Music Player
Powerful Music Player for Android
PowerAMP Music Player Review
by on October 18, 2011
We’ve all moaned about how basic the baked-in Android Music app is, but the PowerAmp Music Player will have your head spinning with all of the options on offer. However, if you can master if, your freedom from the boring Android Music app will be complete. The app’s boasts almost unlimited settings with 10-band EQ and endless presets for you to fiddle with. The app can be a little confusing at times, (making our music appear in a traditional Artists, Songs, Album view was tricky) and the touchscreen buttons are really, really small. The abundance of EQ settings are all well and good, but fine tuning audio on devices that don’t come anywhere close to replicating the quality of a high-end MP3 player almost seems like a false errand. No matter what you do, Android phones are not made for audiophiles in the same way that, say, the iPod touch is. Other options offered by the app are too numerous to list. We’ve got gapless playback, headset options, crossfades, compatibility with every file format imaginable and some nice-looking themes to go with it. Try the 15 day free trial before you buy. The app is great, but it might have you pining for simpler times when you just hit “Play.”
