Virtual Guitar
T3 Rating
4A fairly decent guitar emulator but is your phone big enough?
Virtual Guitar Review

Everyone has dreamed of becoming a decent guitarist. It’s the coolest instrument in the band. Never the drums, as you can’t run around the stage with them and the bass is just a bit rubbish, so if you were going to emulate any instrument on your smartphone then it would be the good ol’ axe.
There’s a fair few guitar emulators on the Android Market but Virtual Guitar is probably the most fun. There are a number of ways you can use the app. The first is in Solo Mode. Here you can pluck any string you want and try and make a tune out of the thing. We tried but kind of failed, but it was a whole lot of fun.
The next way to play the app is in Chord Mode. Here you chose the chord you want, strum and then keep choosing chords until you make something that sounds a little like a song.
We found that we had to tweak the settings to make the app work to our liking but once this was done it was decent to use.
And considering we paid absolutely nothing for the app, there’s a lot of fun to be had here.

The iOS equivalent of a plain cheese sandwich: does the job, but it won't linger in the memory afterwards.

The interface feels a bit out of place on iOS, but it’s a fun app, and produces interesting results.
Puzzlejuice
Absurdly challenging, sometimes brutal, but frequently brilliant (especially on the iPad); just be aware of what you’re letting yourself in for. (Sob.)
