Given that we are the sort of people that don’t remember our dreams, trying out an app like Sleep Talk Recorder was something of a revelation.

The app fills a gap on the Android Market that probably shouldn’t be there. There’s no real reason why you would want to record what you say in your sleep, other than if you are very paranoid your partner is sleeping with your best friend Paul.

While we didn’t here anything about Paul and his possible shenanigans with our other half, the app did pick up some interesting sounds.

Load it up before you go to bed and the idea is that it will record anything that sounds like talking while you are asleep.

Given that our phone barely makes it through the day without a battery charge we do recommend that you use this app while you have your phone on charge.

The recordings we got from the app were, well, interesting. It turns out that our snoring a puckering of lips sounds like talking as we had quite a few recordings of this.

We also recorded what can only be described as our own version of Klingon as channelled through Yoda. One sentence that stood out was: “Skrin, no, not the skrin – can’t you shee mean be for I.”

We tried to interpret this but couldn’t make head or tail of what was said. The audio was clear though, even if the words were not.

Sleep Talk Recorder is a fun and simple app to use – just don’t blame us if you start recording some Paranormal Activity style warblings.
