Get your anime fix with this great comic-book app
Mango Manga Reader is regarded as the best app around for those that like to read their anime and Manga content on a smartphone. It’s not exclusive to Android – BlackBerry users have had the privilege of the app for some time – but it is the sort of thing the platform is crying out for.
Load the app up and you are given a tutorial on how the app works. For us this was the most frustrating thing about Mango – the tutorial has to be completed in full before you can start reading your Manga and it is very basic. It took a good few minutes to go through the ’swipe this way, swipe that’ instructions.
Once this is done though you can start downloading content. And there is a lot of content. Downloads can come from a number of different Manga servers and all of the ‘chapters’ are free. While we don’t want to delve into the legalities of this, the app makes it extremely easy to pull Manga from the web and allow you to read it on the reader.
It may not have the slickness of the Marvel or DC app but what Mango does is oodles of content. The sheer amount of issues on offer may be a little daunting for some, but there are some filters in place to help you – the best of which shows you the most popular chapters downloaded.
It’s a little rough and ready but Mango app is worth a look.
